What is Vermicompost?

What is Vermicompost?

Here’s the short answer….worm poop.

Vermicompost is worm castings, worm humus or worm manure, what ever you want to call it.

Worms east organic material continuously. The organic material is processed/digested in the gut of the worms and then excreted. The excrement or castings are similar to cow manure only much richer in nutrients and beneficial microbes and enzymes. It’s black gold in the plant world.

It simply is the BEST fertilizer you can use for your garden, plants or trees. It’s also very concentrated/potent so you do not have to use very much. A little goes a very long way. Vermicompost will not harm your plants even if you put too much down. Other fertilizers can burn plants if too much is applied. Worm castings are totally organic and safe.

Vermicompost will improve soil aeration and resist compaction. This will promote root and structure growth.

Worm mucus found in the Vermicompost is very beneficial. It helps prevent nutrients from being washed away when first watered and will also hold more water than soil.

To apply Vermicompost, just spread about a cup or 2 over the soil by the plants that need fertilizer. You can mix the Vermicompost in with the soil or just leave it on top. Either way will work like magic. Now water and sit back and watch. Your plants will grow faster, turn brighter green and produce more flowers/fruit than ever before. The beneficial microbes in worm castings will help keep your plants healthy and disease free.

You can buy it online and get free shipping from Amazon.com. It’s not expensive either. Worm castings or Vermicompost costs about $10 for a 8 quart bag.
